Family Engagement Specialist
The Residential Treatment Program at Lund seeks a passionate and energized Family Engagement Specialist to support families connected to our Resident Program, ensuring they have the resources, relationships, and stability needed to thrive. The Family Engagement Specialist provides case management to parents, helping them identify and strengthen natural support systems while fostering meaningful parent-child relationships. This role facilitates MAPs (Making Action Plan) meetings, bringing together individuals’ personal and professional support networks to set goals and develop concrete plans. Beyond the residential program, this role works closely with caregivers and extended family members to reduce barriers to visitation, maintain connections, and access necessary community resources.
Other responsibilities include:
- Participate in planning for program admission and supporting new clients and their natural supports in adjusting to the program
- Assist in the development of transition and continuing care plans and serves as an advisor to the treatment team
- Facilitate treatment groups and group note documentation
- Complete individual session notes, monthly progress notes, and discharge summary paperwork
- Participate in court proceedings as required
- Act as community liaison to other agencies specific to the target population
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelors in Social Work, or related field.
- Apprentice Addiction Professional (AAP) certificate or the ability to successfully test for certification within the first year of employment is required.
- Expertise working with families and children. Experience working with children, parenting and/or pregnant individuals, and transition aged youth.
- Knowledge of women’s treatment, community-based resources, and sensitivity to women’s issues.
- Familiarity with regulations, laws and procedures of the Vermont Agency of Human Services.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines and demands; ability to work well under pressure; some state-wide travel to attend meetings; flexible hours at times to meet the needs of a 24-hour facility.
- Exhibit theoretical and practical knowledge and experience with systems theory, family dynamics, poverty, transitional services, and community-based resources.
- Ability to maintain a valid VT Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation. Occasional statewide travel may be required.
