Development Associate
The Development Team at Lund seeks an enthusiastic storyteller to join the team to support the mission of our agency by securing vital funding and forging meaningful connections. The Development Associate manages the full lifecycle of our grant work—from researching and writing compelling proposals to submitting timely reports and stewarding lasting relationships with public and private funders. They'll work closely with program staff to tell the story of Lund's impact, ensure alignment with funder priorities, and keep a pulse on emerging funding opportunities.
This role isn’t just about paperwork—it’s about people. The Development Associate serves as a frontline ambassador, expressing gratitude to our supporters, inviting them deeper into our mission, and connecting them with community events and sponsorship opportunities that expand our impact.
Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Prepare and submit grant reports in compliance with guidelines, including collecting data, gathering financial and expenses-related documentation, and providing updates on project progress, outcomes, and financial accountability
- Support the cultivation and securing of event sponsors, helping to align community partners with Lund’s mission
- Coordinate opportunities that connect the public to Lund’s work, such as community tabling events and other mission-centered outreach
- Contribute to the planning and potential management of development-led events, ensuring they reflect Lund’s values and engage supporters meaningfully
This is a full-time, 40 hours a week, and on-site position at our South Burlington, Vermont location. The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000.

What You Will Bring:
- Proven success in grant writing and management, securing funding from public (federal, state, local) and private sources.
- Skilled in navigating complex grant application and reporting processes with a deep understanding of nonprofit funding landscapes.
- Strong research abilities, including the use of AI tools to identify grant opportunities, analyze funding trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at crafting compelling proposals and clearly conveying Lund’s mission and impact to varied audiences.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills with grantors, partners, and cross-departmental teams to align goals and share outcomes.
