Early Childhood Individual Assistant

South Burlington, VT
Full Time
Student (College)
We are seeking a compassionate, steady, and team-oriented Individual Assistant in Lund’s Early Childhood Program (LECP). Our Early Childhood Program, rated 5-STAR, provides exceptional care and education for children aged six weeks through Pre-K. The Individual Assistant will be a key part of creating an environment where a child with special needs can fully participate and thrive—while also contributing to a caring, trauma-informed classroom for all children.

Specifically, this team member will provide individualized support tailored to developmental needs, always centering the child’s dignity, safety, and well-being. The day-to-day can look like guiding positive interactions, maintaining continuous supervision of children, and helping to shape a classroom environment that is clean, healthy, and nurturing.

If you are someone who believes deeply in inclusive education, understands the power of trauma-informed practice, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment, we invite you to consider joining us. Your work will directly contribute to a classroom where every child has the opportunity to grow, belong, and shine.

This position is full-time, benefits-eligible, 38 hours a week, in-person at our South Burlington center. This is a temporary, grant-funded position through August 19, 2026. The rate of pay for this position is $24/hr. For the full job description, click here.

Research shows that individuals from marginalized groups—such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, people with disabilities, and those from working-class backgrounds—often hesitate to apply for jobs unless they can see themselves meeting and performing every responsibility and requirement. However, many skills can be learned on the job. If you can see yourself adding value to the role, our clients, staff, and guests and meeting most of the responsibilities and qualifications, we encourage you to apply!

 What You Will Bring:
  • Childhood Development Associate (CDA) Credential or Associate’s degree in early childhood (or related field) and/or one year of experience working with young children is preferred.
The successful completion of a background check is a condition of employment.
